In Four Simple Steps

"If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you."

- John 15:7 NKJV

You can approach your life from a place of peace and calm. I know that you are busy, and you have multiple roles to fulfill and people depending on you. You have aspirations and goals for yourself. You can achieve everything on your to-do list and everything on your wish list, all from a place of peace and calm. You do this by abiding in Father God. You do this by asking for wisdom and grace from Father God. You accomplish this by affirming the Word in your thoughts and speech. Your self-talk, and the language used in your relationships, and your business dealings should be Word driven. Peace and calm come by acting on the Word and the wisdom you have received from Father God. Four simple steps, abide, ask, affirm, and take action.

Abide

Abiding with God is like being His stage four clinger. In a childlike manner, you joyfully want to go where He goes and invite Him to go with you wherever you go. Abiding involves being conscious of the presence of God at all times. Because He is right there with you, frequent conversations are possible. Take time to learn about God by studying the Word. Take time to search to see what may not initially be apparent. We can only connect and commune with God with the spiritual aspect of our tripartite nature.

In seeking God first, some people dedicate the day to the Lord by beginning and ending the day with prayer and devotion. Daily rituals are good, but if earthly obligations prevent scheduled quiet-time, it is okay. It may be a blessing. It leaves you no other option but to invite Christ in exactly where you are at any given moment. Take Him with you. Do not just do a morning meeting or breakfast together and walk away. A busy schedule can make abiding more than a ritual. It can become a constant priority that governs your life. If you are in communion with Him, you can let God give you direction. You do not have to rely on yourself because you can ask and seek wisdom from Him.

Ask

You can avoid panic when an unexpected situation arises during the day. Seek the counsel of God and consult with Him before making decisions in your life. Ask God for wisdom on the best way to handle situations. Do not think of God as the Calvary to be called at the last minute; think of Christ as your faithful friend, bodyguard, and backup. He’s right there with you providing companionship, guidance, and protection as needed.

“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.

- Matthew 7:7-8 NKJV

Affirm

Affirm the direction that you hear from God by going to the Word. Be sure everything is consistent. There should be no conflicting or confusing information. If there is, search the Word and pray for answers. Speak life and faith over the seeds planted in prayer. Do this regardless of the amount of time it takes for manifestation. An easy way to stay conscious of your speech is to ensure you speak with words of love. The thoughts and things you say to and about yourself should be loving. The words you use with family, friends, and acquaintances should only be expressions you would use with those you love.

Act

Finally, you have to do your part to bring that which God promised into manifestation. You have to act. In your actions, keep the commandments. Love God and love your neighbor. Be a good steward of the gifts God has given to you. Work diligently to the best of your ability serving God. Trust God for the grace to do your part. He will not ask you to do anything you’re incapable of doing. Trust Him as you fulfill your many roles and duties. He will give you peace and calm through it all as you abide, ask, affirm, and take action.
