Three Simple Back to Basic Tips for Health and Beauty

If you have been enjoying lots of summer activities in the sun, you are probably already in the habit of slathering on sunscreen multiple times a day. This will make the first step easy . . . keep doing what you have been doing! Even though you may not be able to spend as much time in the sun, or there just may not be as much sunshine around, keep wearing your sunscreen. Sun damage is a primary cause of visible signs of aging. At a minimum, you should use a sunscreen with an SPF of 15 or more and apply it at least 30 minutes before going outside.

Perhaps you had too much fun in the sun and your skin is flaky and dry as a result. Try adding exfoliation to your routine once or twice a week. Use a loofah and your favorite bath gel or use an exfoliating crème. Your skin will feel like it did on your very first day of school. Exfoliating will help get rid of dead skins cells resulting in a smoother texture and revealing healthier looking skin.

One of the not so favorite things about back to school growing up was no more late nights and sleeping in. Getting a good night’s sleep was vital to getting a good education. It’s vital for a healthy body as well. So as much as you may want to resist, try going to bed an extra fifteen to thirty minutes earlier for the next week. See what a difference it makes in how you feel and look. The body needs time to repair itself. The extra sleep will allow your body to work on building the skin’s collagen, which will result in a smoother complexion.

Whether you’re actually heading back to the classroom or just embracing the change of season, use this back to school season to get back to basics with your health and skincare routines. Your body will thank you and reward you with a more youthful appearance.
